I was born in Buffalo, New York and moved to DeLeon Springs, Florida in 1981. I attended DBCC and graduated from the Dental Assisting Program in 1988 and became a Certified Dental Assistant.. I was hired by Dr. Batten right after graduating in June of 1988. I have been here ever since.
I was an Assistant for Dr. Batten nearly 10 years when I was promoted to Office Coordinator. I am the person who will assist patients with scheduling and any insurance questions that you may have. I truly enjoy my job and look forward to assisting our patients in any way possible. Don't worry if you see me assisting Dr. Batten with any procedures, I still work on patients nearly every Thursday afternoon to keep up my skills as a Dental Assistant. Over the last 20 years advancements in the dental field have taken place. I believe it is imperative to keep up with the latest and most advanced technologies available to offer our patients the best dental care possible.
On a personal level, I have been married for over 20 years to my husband Chris, have two children, Nick and Noah. In my spare time, I enjoy spending quality time with my family and friends, camping, boating and volunteering with the Orange City Fire Department as Secretary/Treasurer of the Volunteer Association.
I was born and raised in Gross Pointe Woods, Michigan. After high school, I attended and graduated from Ferris State University with a Degree in Dental Hygiene and became a Registered Dental Hygienist. After graduation, I relocated to Daytona Beach, Florida with my family. I have been a Dental Hygienist in Deland since 1979.
I began working with Dr. Batten in 1996. I thoroughly enjoy all of my patients. Most of my patients are more like close friends or family, due to my energetic and outgoing personality. I work Monday thru Thursday, which I love so I can spend more time with my girls, as they are growing up so fast. This career has ever so changed since I started many years ago and being able to change with the times has allowed me to offer my patients the latest advances in achieving the best dental health for them.
On a personal note, I have two beautiful girls, Courtney and Caitlyn. Courtney is in her 3rd year at UCF majoring in Health Administration. Caitlyn is a sophomore at Mainland High School In my spare time I enjoy traveling, gardening, boating and spending time with my family and friends.
I was born in Nurenberg, Germany as an Army Brat. I have lived in Okinawa, Utah, Virginia, Maryland and Georgia. My family moved here to Deland when my father retired in 1972. After graduating from Deland High School in 1975, I earned my A. A. Degree from DBCC in 1977. My class was the first to graduate from the Dental Assisting Program at DBCC after which I became a Certified Dental Assistant in 1979. I worked in general and oral surgery before working with Dr. Batten.
I began working with Dr. Batten in October 1997. Techniques in dentistry have changed in the past 27 years, but most importantly peoples desire to have beautiful smiles for life have significantly increased. These are the things that I love most about my job. The ability to give patients the opportunity to do just that and being able to offer the best dentistry available is such a rewarding feeling.
My husband, Larry and I have been married for over 25 years and we have four children. Rachel, Larry Jr., Shannon and Michael. We love to camp, canoe, hike and travel the USA.
I was born in Daytona Beach, Florida and raised in Deland. I graduated from Deland High School. In 1995. After graduating I attend DBCC and obtained my A. S. Degree in Dental Assisting and became a Certified Dental Assistant in 1997
I started at Dr. Batten's office in January 2003 as a Certified Dental Assistant. After a year I began working with Suzy at the front office (scheduling, answering phone and insurance). I am now working part time, so I can spend more time with my 2 boys.
I am married to a wonderful husband, Trevor, and stay very busy with my two little boys, Parker and Brady.
I was born in Rome, New York. My family moved all over the US throughout the years as an Air Force Brat. I graduated High School in the State of Ohio while my father was stationed at Wright Patterson Air Force Base. I graduated the Dental Assisting Program at DBCC and became a Certified Dental Assistant in 2003.
I interned throughout school and stayed after graduating the Dental Assisting Program. I became full time in July 2003. Since working with Dr. Batten, the differences we make in the lives of our patients makes going to work a joy. Being able to make someone want to smile is the greatest reward.
I am the mother of two boys, Justin and Landon, that keep me very busy (Chaos is my world). We also have two dogs, a Rottwieler, Diva and a Catahoula, Sedona. In my spare time (Ha Ha) I enjoy spending quality time with my family and friends, camping, gardening and riding four wheelers.
I was born in Dallas, TX, but spent most of my childhood on a 72 acre farm in Lewisburg, TN just out of Nashville. As an adult I have lived in Oklahoma, New Jersey and this is my second time living in Florida where I plan to stay. I graduated from the Brevard Dental Hygiene Program in 1996.
I have had the pleasure of working in both general dentistry and several years in a specialty periodontal office. I find my work most rewarding when I can use my periodontal experience to help my patients get amazing results and maintain a long lasting smile.
Dental Hygiene was a great career choice for me since I genuinely care for my patients and treat each one as if they were my relative. I am always looking for ways to help my patients by paying close attention to every detail involved in their oral cavity, so that each and everyone gets the most thorough care.
When off work, I am kept busy with my two little girls. My little monkey, Elizabeth is 4 years and my Cinderella, Samantha just turned 8. I am a down to earth southern girl who loves anything outdoors. That includes; fishing, boating, camping, tennis and anything but sitting still. I am always looking for new fun exciting ways to spend time with those around me.
