Suzy Sievert, CDA, EFDA

Office Administrator

I was born in Buffalo, New York and moved to DeLeon Springs, Florida in 1981. I attended DBCC and graduated from the Dental Assisting Program in 1988 and became a Certified Dental Assistant. Dr. Batten hired me after graduating in June of 1988. I have been here ever since.

I was an Assistant for Dr. Batten nearly 10 years when I was promoted to Office Coordinator. I am the person who will assist patients with scheduling appointments and any insurance questions that you may have. I truly enjoy my job and look forward to assisting our patients in any way possible. Don’t worry if you see me assisting Dr. Batten with any procedures, I must keep up my skills as a Dental Assistant. Over all these years advancements in the dental field have taken place. I believe it is imperative to keep up with the latest and most advanced technologies available to offer our patients the best dental care possible.

On a personal level, I am married to my wonderful husband Chris. We have two awesome children, Nick and Noah. I just recently gained an awesome daughter-in-law Sky. In my spare time, I enjoy spending quality time with my family and friends, fishing, boating, and playing Pokémon Go!

Heather Mejias, DA, EFDA

I was born in DeLand, Florida and raised in Debary, Florida. I started my dental career in 1999 in Mount Dora. I was trained on the job until attending the University of Florida to obtain my certifications for Expanded Functions Duties and Dental Radiology. I love being in the world of dentistry and helping patients receive the smile they have always wanted. I have been with Dr. Batten since 2013 and love being able to be a full-time assistant and a full-time mom.

On a personal note, my husband and I have 2 daughters. We love spending quality time together playing games, going to the beach and swimming.

Sara Jenzen, CRDH

I was born in Minneapolis, Minnesota, and my family moved to Deleon Springs, Florida when I was five years old. In my early twenties I returned to Minnesota for six months to live with and help my grandparents. After coming back to Central Florida, I pursued and graduated from Daytona State College in 2015 with my A.S. Degree in Dental Hygiene. My dental hygiene class was the second to graduate from the program with our Local Anesthesia certification. I have been a dental hygienist for 8 years and have worked with Dr. Batten for the majority of that time. As a dental hygienist, I love getting to know my patients and educating them on how to maintain healthy, beautiful smiles. Whenever I see my patients, their comfort is of the utmost importance to me.

I met my amazing husband Michael at a ballroom dance class, and we were married in 2020. We live in Orange City with our two cats and one dog. In our spare time we enjoy spending time with family and friends, ballroom dancing, and traveling.

Ashley Worden, RDH

I was born in Deland, Florida and grew up in the small town of Pierson my whole life. Yes, I am that small town girl. I graduated from Daytona Beach Community College in 2003 with an Associate of Science degree in Dental Hygiene. I have been practicing Hygiene for 19 years. What I love most about my job is my patients. I love creating an environment where they feel comfortable and pampered, all while relieving any dental fears they may have.

I am married to my husband Ryan and we have four children who are our pride and joy. Hannah, Haley, Hayden and Hope. They keep us very busy to say the least. I enjoy spending time with my family and friends and watching my children do the things they love.

Erin Wenzel, CDA, EFDA

I was born in Goshen, NY and grew up in a small town called Chittenango where L. Frank Baum originally wrote The Wizard of Oz. In 2005 I took a leap of faith and moved to Florida and have been here since.

I graduated from Daytona State College Dental Assisting program in 2012. I have had many wonderful experiences and opportunities in the Dental field. I truly enjoy giving people their smiles back and serving the community. I joined Dr. Batten last July and have been blessed to work with a great team and one of my best friends.

I have a husband, two wonderful children and 2 French Bulldogs. We recently moved to Deland and have fallen in love with the small-town feel and are honored to call it our forever home. On my time off I enjoy being outdoors, spending time with my family & dogs, gardening, and cooking.

Wendy Falco, Front Office Associate

I was born in Shelton Connecticut, met and married my husband Bruce there. We moved to Florida in 1985. I started my dental career in 1986 with Dr. Batten as his front desk coordinator. I worked for Dr. Batten for almost 10 years, leaving in 1995 when I had my third child, to become a stay-at-home Mom. Suzy and I remained friends all these years and on February 22, 2022, I started back at Dr. Batten’s office. My career has come full circle and I couldn’t be happier. I love reminiscing with our patients and getting to know the new ones. I am here to help you schedule your appointments, file your insurance and answer any questions you might have. I love that our patients have come to the best office for their dental needs.

On a more personal side, I have been married to my husband Bruce for 42 years. We have 3 adult children, Erika, Krista, and Michael. Krista has our one Granddaughter Grace, who is 11 years old. While the children are out of the house, we now have 5 fur babies to keep us busy. We have an Olde English Bulldog named Bayley, two English Bulldogs, Spike and Lucy, a senior Pug mix, Izzy and a Frenchie named Mia, both are rescues. Our lives are busy with family, Grace’s softball games and taking care of our couch potatoes.

Traci Calliotte, RDH

I was born in Orlando and raised in Lake County. My mother worked in Deland while I was growing up, so the area has been a second home for me for as long as I can remember. I started my dental career as a dental assistant over 30 years ago. I have been a practicing Dental Hygienist for over 23 years, graduating from Valencia Dental Hygiene School in 2000. I got married and moved to Michigan after Hygiene School, where I practiced for 6 years before returning home to Florida and settling in Deland.
We are parents to two wonderful kids.

On my free time you may find me relaxing at the beach, gardening and hunting for unique vintage items to resell in my booth in our local downtown district.

Priscilla Le Gendre, CDA

Hello everyone. My name is Priscilla Le Gendre, and I am one of Dr. Batten’s Dental Assistants. I am looking forward to meeting many new faces and getting to know all of your smiles and stories. I have been a Dental Assistant since 2006. My Father, as a Dental Technician, provided me with the earliest opportunity of learning about the field of dentistry. The learning never stops in this field, and this is one of the reasons I love it!

Early in my career, I was honored to work under the wing of one of the greatest dentists in Orlando, Dr. S. Keith Mahan. I worked chairside with Dr. Mahan for 18 years. I enjoyed every moment discussing dentistry, family, and politics. After 37 years of living in Orlando, I now reside in Deland with my husband, Randy, and our 3 children. I enjoy my free time gardening and becoming in tune with nature.

I look forward to meeting and caring for Dr. Batten’s patients who are essentially like family to this practice. I take this trust placed in me very seriously. I look forward to having the chance to get to know each and everyone of you. Thank you!
